Our syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) London, emphasizes technique and discipline, which brings out ethereal movements and the joy of dance. For more than 6 decades, we have trained and mentored students of all levels; from enthusiastic beginners to aspiring professionals.

I first met Khooshoo Dallas, when I examined her at the RAD college for her ISTD Advanced 2 Modern. I was immediately captivated by her lovely lyricism, charming smile and sparkly eyes. Over the years, I have taught Khooshoo in numerous ISTD International Summer Schools in the UK, proving she has been determined to continually develop her teaching skills and expand her knowledge.
I was delighted to examine at The School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance (SCBWD), for three weeks, in 2015. The Modern work was beautifully presented by enthusiastic candidates who kept me engaged throughout my tour. Their joy was only matched by their integrity and passion to do their very best at all times and it was obvious that this love of dance had been drip-fed by Khooshoo and her wonderful teaching team.
SCBWD really is like a flourishing tree with Khooshoo’s courageous mother Tushna, firmly at the roots. These roots have created a deep foundation which continues to be grounded even though Tushna has sadly passed away. When Tushna arrived in the UK almost 60 years ago, she joined London College, the teaching college of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and was the first student to be accepted from India. Khooshoo has been nurtured into being the stable trunk of the tree, becoming strong and straight, growing branches, or ‘student teachers’ reaching out to new venues, new concepts, new theories for new teachers to embrace and also grow. The tree’s twigs and leaves represent the hundreds, if not thousands of children that have been blessed to come and learn how to dance at the school. Each one has been welcomed into the open arms of this wonderful family that goes from strength to strength.
Khooshoo has worked tirelessly to arrange seminars for her pupils and student teachers, inviting international examiners and lecturers to share their wealth of knowledge and expertise. This has undoubtedly given greater breadth to the pupils and student teachers’ training experience.
Since the pandemic, Khooshoo has regularly taken part in online lectures and courses, staying up late or waking up early to accommodate the various time zones. It has been a pleasure to welcome her on to my screen throughout the 2020 summer school and 2021 Spring Program.
As a Committee member, creator of the Modern syllabi, Lead Examiner for Modern Theatre Dance, I have been proud to mentor Khooshoo and her teaching team over the years. Whenever I visit India, I look forward to working with this energetic Dance School with great excitement, knowing I will not be disappointed.

My daughter, Matylda, attended this school for a year and she really enjoyed it. She looked forward to the classes every week and was always very excited to go. The teachers were kind, fun, helpful but firm at the same time. She learnt a lot and truly blossomed in her Ballet and Modern Theatre skills. We were obviously very disappointed to leave India due to the COVID-19 situation but when we came back to the UK she still carried on the online classes because of the high standard and fantastic level of the lessons. They accommodated the physical and online classes immensely well. We highly recommend this school to learn Western Classical Ballet and Modern dance!
